Laru Beya Collective is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization dedicated to empowering the underrepresented youth of the Rockaways through surfing. Laru Beya means “on the beach” in the language of the Garifuna; a culturally preserved and unique Afro-Indigenous people still residing throughout Central America and the Caribbean.

Changing Tides Foundation was founded in 2016 by 5 SEASTERS that felt called to do more than just take waves. Born from a desire to create a community of people of all genders, shapes, colors and sizes who feel connected to the sea, CTF has grown into a beacon that calls in men and women alike and engages us to use our voices to advocate for the planet and all of its inhabitants.

Harnessing the ocean’s transformative powers, A Walk On Water delivers life-changing surf therapy to children with unique needs and their families. We constantly strive to enhance our programs, strengthen our community and provide access to more children in need and their families, while remaining true to our core values— Empowering children with a feeling of pride and accomplishment, as they unlock their inner athlete through the emotional and incredibly transforming experience of surfing.
